Reddie Dixon was born and raised in Jacksonville North Carolina.  Over her lifetime she has seen Jacksonville grow from a sleepy little coastal town to the wonderful and prosperous city it is today.

Her father, Victor Owens, moved to Jacksonville in the early 1950s and fell in love with a local girl, Pearl McAllister who soon became his wife.  Reddie’s parents had five children and Reddie and her husband David followed her parent’s lead and have five children as well.

Dawneva Evans was born in the state of New York but has spent every summer of her life in beautiful North Carolina visiting her Carolina family.

Derita was born and educated in North Carolina.  She is married to her lifelong sweetheart, Johnnie, who is retired from the US Marine Corps. They made their home in Southern California until retiring in 2000.  After many years of working in the private sector in both Maryland and California, they have returned to eastern North Carolina to live.  Both are very active in their church and community.  Since their arrival, they have served the Jacksonville area through various volunteer organizations.
