Shannonn C. Cameron was born in Southeast Missouri, close to Sikeston. As her father served in the United States Air Force for over 24 years, Shannonn has lived in the Carolinas and Europe most of her life. She began school in Italy, elementary and high school in RAF Croughton, Oxfordshire, England, and graduated in Pikeville, North Carolina. Shannonn continued on to earn her bachelor’s degree in accounting at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. She has lived in Cape Carteret and the Jacksonville area since 1997.
Her accounting degree was put to good use working as a bank teller in Beaufort and Morehead City, North Carolina, where she enjoyed direct contact with customers and helping them with their everyday needs. She quickly caught the attention of Atlantic Construction, Inc., a local Jacksonville builder, and has worked there for over 20 years in her role as Payroll Manager and Services Administrator. They are dedicated to supporting military families by creating homes tailored to the military family’s unique situations. Shannonn also splits her time in the office with the inhouse Atlantic Contracting and Design company, which is Atlantic Construction’s commercial side of the company.
Shannonn enjoys site-seeing in the Carolinas, shopping in historical city centers, and she is a foodie. She loves her local church and is dedicated to her family and friends and her parents’ two golden retrievers: Jamie and Mac…. she calls them her brothers.
Working in accounting aids in Shannonn’s ability to problem solve quickly and adjust when needed and turn on a dime. Living overseas and state-side allows her to have an appreciation for diverse cultures and a global perspective. Shannonn is hard working and honest to a fault.
